The digital layer for trails, greenways and walking routes

You know the history. We help bring it online.

Walking trails, heritage trails, greenways, community walks and tourism routes usually need more than signage. Dino Digital scopes and costs the digital part of the project — an online trail platform, interactive maps, QR points and story pages — so it can sit inside a larger outdoor recreation application.

    Current funding round

Outdoor recreation, trail and greenway funding is run by several bodies with different rounds and deadlines. We do not publish dates here because they change regularly.

Check current outdoor recreation and greenway funding

Check the current outdoor recreation, trail or greenway funding with the relevant body — your Local Authority, Local Development Company or the relevant Department scheme — before applying.

    What the digital layer includes

    • Digital trail platform for the whole route
    • Interactive maps with every stop and access point
    • QR points along the trail
    • Story pages for each stop
    • Visitor information — parking, surfaces, distance, accessibility
    • Historical and wildlife interpretation
    • Nearby attractions and local businesses
    • Physical trail panels linked to the online content

Digital trail work may form part of eligible projects depending on the scheme and the proposal.

    Part of a bigger project

On most outdoor recreation projects the civil works, surfacing and signage are the main spend. The digital layer is a smaller, clearly defined line item — and it is usually what makes the route findable, understandable and shareable once it opens.

    Tell us your project

Send us the outline and we will help turn it into a clearly scoped digital project with a detailed quotation you can attach to your funding application. We work with groups nationwide, and regularly with societies in Kilkenny, Laois, Carlow, Offaly, Kildare, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.

Dino Digital is an independent digital heritage company and is not affiliated with the Heritage Council, any Local Authority or any grant-awarding organisation. Grant eligibility and funding decisions remain entirely with the funding organisation.
